Tongxiang logistics company transports goods to the world through sea-river transport

“Beep…” Recently, at the Yu Shi Inland Multi-Purpose Terminal in Tongxiang Economic Development Zone, the Yu Shi Logistics inland river ship officially sounded the whistle and set sail.

The inland river ship of Yu Shi Logistics on its maiden voyage is a self-purchased 64TEU (standard container) dual-purpose ship with a total length of 64.9 meters, a width of 12.6 meters, and a depth of 3.5 meters. Two inland river ships fully loaded with containers will depart from Yu Shi Terminal and be shipped from Zhapu Port to the world in a sea-river transport mode.

Yu Shi Logistics is an important tertiary industry sector under Zhenshi Holding Group. From 2004 to 2024, under the guidance of Zhenshi’s diversified industrial layout and strategy, Yu Shi Logistics has developed rapidly and with high quality. It has now become one of the top 50 private logistics companies in China and a national 5A-level logistics company. It has 9 subsidiaries at home and abroad, and its service scope reaches the world.

The canal waterways in northern Zhejiang are crisscrossed, inland river terminals are scattered, and the trunk and branch terminals are connected to form a network. Container inland river transportation is a major feature. At the beginning of its establishment, Yu Shi Logistics Multi-Purpose Terminal actively implemented the new sea-river transport model of Jiaxing Port, “unloading at the offshore terminal, inland river ship transportation, and direct access to water station points”, providing large-scale manufacturing companies in Jiaxing with foreign imports of raw and auxiliary materials and delivery services for finished products to foreign customers.

Since the completion of Yu Shi Inland River Multi-Purpose Terminal in 2017, Yu Shi’s water transportation business has grown from an initial annual throughput of only 17,000 boxes to a container throughput of more than 100,000 boxes and a shipping heavy box of 50,000 boxes in 2023, showing the broad prospects of multimodal transport, sea-river transport and other modes.

“From the completion of Yu Shi Wharf in 2017, to the opening of high-quality foreign trade routes in 2021, to the current purchase of inland vessels for independent operation, Yu Shi has built a logistics chain for the real economy.” Yu Shi Logistics General Manager David Yu told reporters that after several years of development, Yu Shi Logistics has become more diversified in logistics services under the new model of water and land transport, and has continuously contributed to local economic development.
