At about 1 pm yesterday, with the Panamanian-registered “Portugal Bulk Transport” ship completing the loading and unloading of 11,600 tons of soybeans at the Phase III terminal of the Laotangshan Operation Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, Ningbo Zhoushan Port Zhoushan Port Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhougang Company) has completed a total cargo throughput of 100.012 million tons this year. This is also the sixth consecutive year since 2019 that the company has achieved an annual cargo throughput of more than 100 million tons.
Since the beginning of this year, Zhougang Company has taken “creating a world-class demonstration enterprise” as its goal, taking the improvement of innovation as a starting point, focusing on serving the “985” action of Zhoushan’s modern marine city construction, and striving to shape the “specialized, refined and new” Zhougang brand, and the company has shown a trend of high-quality development.
“We rely on the special river-sea direct channel to increase the market expansion of grain business, open the river-sea direct route ‘Zhoushan-Chongqing’, and at the same time give full play to the advantages of multimodal transport and location, open the first direct route from Zhejiang Province to Guyana and Suriname, further improve the port service efficiency and operation capacity, and achieve new results in business expansion and production organization.” Sun Chen, deputy director of the production and dispatching department of Zhougang Company, said.
In the first three quarters of this year, Zhougang Company completed a grain throughput of 14.349 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.16%; grain loading and unloading efficiency increased by 4.7% year-on-year, and coal loading and unloading efficiency increased by 4.1% year-on-year; completed 31,969 tugboat operations, a year-on-year increase of 4.85%, of which 158 cross-port tugboats were completed, a year-on-year increase of 24.41%, actively contributing to ensuring the safety of ship production.
In addition, Zhougang Company has vigorously carried out the assessment of the fulfillment rate of ship berthing plans this year to further improve the accuracy and reliability of terminal operations. We took the initiative to connect with port units, actively visited and contacted ports, customs, border inspection, maritime affairs and other departments, made every effort to shorten the auxiliary operation time, and focused on building a “zero waiting” transportation guarantee mechanism, which shortened the joint inspection time of the Waidiao Oil Terminal by nearly one hour. At the same time, we completed 37 VLCC berthing operations at the Waidiao Oil Terminal and Shihua Crude Oil Terminal, providing solid logistics support for the Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base Project.
