African English-speaking countries all-media journalists training course opened in Jinhua

On October 31, the 2024 African English-speaking countries all-media journalists training course, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by Zhejiang Normal University, the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, and the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, opened. 30 journalists from 10 African countries including Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Nigeria, etc. will study and interview in Jinhua for two weeks, deeply appreciate the charm of Bawu culture, and feel the surging power of Jinhua’s economic development.

The African media people participating in the training course are all well-known journalists in the media circles of various countries. They are at the forefront of the times, using their lenses to record the changes in the world and using words to convey the voices of people from various countries. During the training, they will share their experiences in Jinhua, participate in the reporting of the 2024 China-Africa Economic, Trade and Cultural Forum, and tell the story of Jinhua to the world in different forms.

They will also go to Jinhua New Energy Vehicle Town to feel the pulse of our city’s economic development; visit Jinhua News Media Center to have in-depth exchanges with media colleagues; go deep into Yiwu International Trade City to experience the huge market with a turnover of over 100 billion yuan. The organizer said that it hopes that through this all-media journalist training course, African media friends will have a better understanding of Chinese language and culture, strengthen news exchanges and cultural exchanges, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the media industry of both sides, inject new connotations into China-Africa friendship, and write a new chapter.

Since the beginning of this year, batches of foreign media reporters have come to Jinhua to visit the market, see the industry, visit the countryside, explore the culture, and report on Jinhua in detail. Brazil’s Flagship Media Group and the “Review” reporter group filmed the “Watch China Together” program in Jinhua, and the relevant reports were disseminated in Brazil as a series of special topics on the 50th anniversary of China-Brazil. In May this year, 28 journalists from 27 African countries came to Jinhua for field research and published nearly 100 reports, introducing the rich and colorful Jinhua to the world; in October this year, the 2024 “Explore Jinhua” international media field trip was held, and 30 journalists from media organizations in France, the United States, South Korea, Switzerland, Tanzania, Djibouti and other countries discovered the beauty of Jinhua’s economy and culture from the perspective of media professionals.
